What is acupuncture?
What conditions can acupuncture treat?
Acupuncture is effective for treating chronic pain, headaches, digestive issues, stress, anxiety, insomnia, and various other health conditions.
Is acupuncture safe?
Yes, acupuncture is generally safe when performed by a trained and licensed practitioner. The needles used are sterile, single-use, and very thin.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture usually involves minimal discomfort. The needles are very thin, and any sensation felt is typically mild and brief, often leading to a relaxing experience.
How many acupuncture sessions will I need?
The number of sessions needed varies based on the individual’s condition and response to treatment. Some may feel relief after one session, while others require multiple sessions.
What can I expect during an acupuncture session?
During a session, you’ll lie comfortably while the practitioner inserts needles into specific points on your body. The needles remain in place for about 20-30 minutes while you relax.
Are there any side effects of acupuncture?
Side effects are rare but can include slight bruising, minor bleeding, or soreness at the needle sites. These effects are typically mild and temporary.
How should I prepare for an acupuncture session?
Wear loose, comfortable clothing and have a light meal beforehand. Avoid strenuous activity and alcohol before and after the session. Be ready to discuss your health concerns with the practitioner.
Can acupuncture be combined with other treatments?
Yes, acupuncture can be combined with other services we offer, such as cold therapy, infrared sauna, and float tank sessions. Combining these treatments can enhance your overall wellness and recovery experience. Always inform your practitioner about all treatments you are receiving so they can tailor your care plan accordingly.
How do I prepare for my first float?
- We recommend no coffee the day of the float and no heavy meals beforehand. This will allow your body and mind to enter a deep state of relaxation.
- Dress casually, as you will be showering before and after your float.
- Try not to shave the day of your float. The salt can cause a lot of irritation to shaved skin.
- Put your earplugs in (provided by us) before you enter the float tank. This will keep water and salt out of your ears.
- Come with no expectations.
- Remember to just let go!
Are the tanks sanitary?
Absolutely! Technically no microorganism can survive in 1100lbs of salt. In fact because of the high salt content, float tanks are cleaner than public pools or hot tubs. Industry standards also require the use of hydrogen peroxide in the tanks for an added sanitation method. The tanks are also filtered after each float and use UV light and ozone to further sanitize the water.
Should I bring anything?
We provide all towels, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, ear plugs, blow dryers, etc. If you wear contacts you may want to bring a case to put them in before you enter the tank and if you have long hair you may want to bring a comb for afterwards.
Do people float naked?
Bathing suits can harbor a lot of bacteria so it is recommended that you float with nothing on. With that being said you will have complete privacy in the float room and float tank so it is totally up to you if you want to float naked or not. Most people prefer going in with nothing on to eliminate all distractions anyway!
How often should I float?
Floating is an accumulative therapy. Which means the more you float, the more benefits you will enjoy. Floating every 2 weeks is generally what is recommended for optimal benefits.
Will I feel claustrophobic?
The tanks are big enough that you will feel very comfortable during your entire float. In fact most people feel like they are floating in the vastness of outer space rather than a pod. You can also choose to have the lights on and the lid open. If you do feel any discomfort just remember to float through it!
Can I drown?
Absolutely not! the tanks are filled with 1100 pounds of epsom salt which allows you to float seamlessly and effortlessly.
Can I float while pregnant?
You bet! Pregnant women are some of our happiest clients. The zero gravity environment allows you to float effortlessly on your back without any discomfort or pain.
Note: We do ask that you consult with your doctor beforehand as well so everyone is on the same page.
How long do I have to wait if I just dyed my hair?
Dark and coloured hair dyes will cause discolouration of the water and to the flotation tank. Floater must wait a minimum of two to three weeks, until such time that hair dye has stopped bleeding.
Should I sauna before or after my float?
We recommend booking your sauna session about an hour before your float. This way you can easily transition to the shower in the float room and then into the tank (You will also feel amazing!).
What is the difference between infrared saunas and regular saunas?
Infrared heat is very gentle, similar to laying in the sun, but also allows a deep heat that is far superior to typical saunas from a health benefits perspective, and is more pleasant to experience. Infrared waves produce a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where most toxins reside.
Traditional forms of heat therapy can be hazardous, uncomfortable, unhygienic, inefficient and ineffective. Traditional saunas create exposure to extremely high and often fluctuating temperatures, potentially causing heat stress and detrimental effects on health, especially for people with a heart condition or high blood pressure. By comparison, infrared saunas deliver a consistent, stable heat that works at a cellular level instead of an atmospheric level.
What do I wear / bring?
You have the option to wear a bathing suit or towel in the sauna so we recommend bringing your bathing suit and some water (Ideally in a stainless steel bottle). All towels will be provided.
Do you shower after using the infrared sauna?
If you are going into a float after your infrared sauna session you will be required to shower before entering the float tank. Otherwise it is up to you! Our new sauna room has a shower but some clients still prefer to wait until they get home in order to maximize the detoxing.
Should I float then sauna or sauna then float?
We recommend booking your sauna session about an hour before your float. This way you can easily transition to the shower in the float room and then into the tank (You will also feel amazing!).
How is the infrared sauna kept clean?
Like our float tanks, we take cleanliness very seriously. This means the infrared sauna is disinfected with a hydrogen peroxide solution by our staff after each session. We also require all clients to sit on a towel and we place towels in appropriate locations such as the back rest to ensure a clean environment / experience for all clients.
How hot is the infrared sauna?
The maximum temperature the infrared sauna can be set to is 55 Degrees Celsius. We can always adjust the temperature down to your desired experience.
How long is a session?
Infrared sauna sessions are 40 minutes and include an additional 5-10 minutes afterwards for showering and changing. Hot/Cold sessions are 60 minutes.
What is cold plunge therapy?
Cold plunge therapy involves immersing the body in cold water, typically ranging from 5-10 degrees Celsius, to promote various health benefits.
What are the benefits of cold plunge therapy?
Cold plunge therapy can reduce inflammation, boost the immune system, improve circulation, and accelerate muscle recovery by constricting blood vessels and reducing swelling.
How long should I stay in the cold plunge?

Once in the water, focus on calm, deep breaths and stay relaxed. Controlled breathing can also help regulate your heart rate.
What should I expect during a cold plunge session?
During a cold plunge session, you will experience a sudden drop in body temperature, which can be intense initially. This is followed by a numbing sensation as your body adjusts to the cold water.
Can I combine cold plunge therapy with other treatments?
Yes, cold plunge therapy can be combined with other treatments such as acupuncture, infrared sauna, or float tank sessions to enhance overall wellness and recovery.

Some common side effects include initial discomfort, numbness, and tingling sensations. These effects are usually temporary. It is important to exit the cold plunge if you experience extreme discomfort or any signs of hypothermia.
Who should avoid cold plunge therapy?
